.303 ammuntion were fitted with nickel heads in the early days All WW1 ammuntion were nickel and the early part of the war were nickel but as the raw material was becoming costly to ship and was required for more diverse products to help the war effort it became practice to produce an FMJ made from cooper these would not only become cheaper but would aid barrel life these are becoming scarce to find but we have a quantity of original unfired heads with cases but once gone they wont be replaced.
